Week 8, Sunday
In 1698 Scotland poured a huge share of its money into a colony on the Isthmus of Darien in Panama, on the word of a promoter who had never set foot there. Five ships sailed with wigs, combs and thousands of wool stockings to sell in a jungle, and within months the settlers had buried hundreds of their own and fled. A second fleet then arrived, found the huts burned and the place empty, and unpacked. Matthew is the second fleet, and he brought the wigs.
Matthew walks in at 123.8 and 13 percent against Ethan's 164 and 87 percent, and Ethan banked 53.86 on Thursday before Matthew's men had found the beach. Dak Prescott at 27.1 and Jayden Daniels at 20.4 are the only cargo Matthew could sell, because behind them sits RJ Harvey, on IR, projected for 0, a wool stocking in Panama minus the stocking. Darien at least had the Spanish navy offshore and an English king forbidding his colonies to sell it food; Matthew had a lineup screen and all week. Loser.
The matchups
Shough and Fhough (Justin) vs Anish
Justin opened at 63 percent and has slid to 57 percent without one of his starters taking the field, the purest Justin performance yet: losing ground sitting down. Anish banked 20.9 on Thursday, gets Ja'Marr Chase at 19.8 today, and is still the underdog at 156.5 against Justin's 163.4 with Blake Corum's 7.6 in the lineup. A head start on Blake Corum, and Anish is still behind. Pitiful.
Njigba’s in Paris (Peter) vs Let A Naysayer Know (Devante)
Peter projects to 177.4 and 75 percent with 34.5 banked and Drew Lock starting at quarterback for a projected 0, the same trick Peter pulled with Case Keenum in week 6. Devante has Lamar Jackson, Geno Smith and 25 percent, and Devante still found time this week to lose 1,037 in FantasyCalc value in a trade. DEVANTE IS LOSING TO A TEAM STARTING DREW LOCK.
